“Overcome more than just the weights in the gym”
Hi, my name is Jack Nesbitt. I am the owner and founder of JNPT.
I started as a PT in 2017 based in a large commercial gym. While I wanted to help as many people as possible, I found I was held back by the environment. I resolved to build my own studio where I could take my clients on a journey, in a safe space, where they could really thrive.
JNPT Studio opened in Mt Barker in 2018, and we haven't looked back since. The structure has evolved over that time, from outdoor group classes, to nutritional coaching and more. However my passion and the thing that has been central to our success, was always strength training.
The fitness industry, is awash with misinformation about strength training, especially the specifics of performing lifting movements. My goal is to not only show clients how to lift safely and effectively but to also educate them and build an understanding of their body in motion and how to make it work at its optimum.
As we get older – and I mean upward of 30 – it is much harder to build and maintain muscle mass. As we lose muscle, we also lose functionality in our joints and ligaments, which can lead to chronic conditions and injuries. Strength training strengthens bones, improves balance, supports mental wellbeing and assists weight loss. Making strength training a ‘foundational’ activity is one of the keys to lifelong health.
It doesn’t just stop there. I believe you can really build confidence across all areas of your life by getting stronger in the gym. Pushing the limits of what you thought your body could do, helps you overcome more than just the weights in the gym, it also helps you with obstacles in other areas of life.
At JNPT, I work with people that have never picked up a dumbbell in their life to those that have trained for years but have never found real progress on their own. One thing they all have in common now is, they are driven to do this long term. They are driven to push themselves and see what they can achieve. They are committed to better health, and they know strength training can help them move toward the optimal health they are looking for in life.
